Memorials Stained Glass Windows.

In the Chancel.

For Menie Peck, widow of Dr. Floyd Peck, died 28th June, 1887, aged 67.

For Dr. Floyd Minter Peck, died 9th January, 1863, aged 43.

For Edward Crooke, 24/5/1810-7/11/1873.

In the Nave.

For Florence Paton, died 22nd January, 1938. The gift of her sister, Elsie Paton.

For Lilian Elizabeth Napper (nee Easterby), died 26th January, 1938. Organist for 30 years, 1896-1926.

For Emilie Sophia Pearson.

For William Henry Glover, died 30th July, 1935, and his wife Isabella, died 24th May, 1946.

For Myrtle Elizabeth Glover, died 27th May, 1946.

For James Frederick Darley, died 25th February, 1971.

For Mrs. Nancy Merle Dell, died 18th February, 1972.

A gift of the Shapley family.

The gift of the Cathedral Ladies' Guild, 1959.

For Edward Randolph Cleaver, died of wounds 28th October, 1917, aged 31.

For Edward Cleaver, died 31st October, 1917, aged 62.

Other Wall Gifts and Memorials.

On one wall of the Nave is an Eighth Century Cross, under which is a translation of the Latin inscription beneath the Cross, reading:

"This representation of an Ancient Cross made in Kent in the Eighth Century, and the stone truly taken from the walls of the Cathedral Church of Christ in Canterbury is given as a token of greeting and a bond of fellowship by the friends of the said Cathedral Church, in the year of our salvation, nineteen hundred and thirty-two".

There is also a piece of marble from St. Paul's, London, with the following information given below it:

"This piece of Marble is the gift of the Dean and Chapter of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, London. It formed part of the Reredos which was severely damaged by enemy action in World War Two".

On the opposite wall of the nave there was placed, in 1977, an Ipsworth Cross, part of the stone from the ancient Cathedral of the Undivided Trinity in Norwich, England.

The Right Reverend Maurice Wood, Bishop of Norwich, presented this Stone to the Bishop of Gippsland and the Dean of Sale at the final Rally of his "Light and Life" Mission to the Diocese of Gippsland in February 1977. This stone was placed on the wall of the nave and blessed at the 75th Anniversary of the Diocese Thanksgiving Service on 10th July of that year.

On the western wall there is a "Benefactors Board" with room for many brass plates listing memorial benefactions given to the Cathedral. There are now six of these stating:

The Sedilia commemorates the Ven. Archdeacon John Herbert Blundell, Canon in Residence, 1935-43.

The Sedilia of the North Side of the Sanctuary commemorates the Ven. Archdeacon Allen Edmund Adeney and his wife, Frances. The gift of their son Geoffrey.

The Sanctuary Panelling has been erected to the Memory of Hilda Evelyn Webster, died 27th November, 1950. The gift of her husband, William Peel Webster. Dedicated by the Most Reverend Cyril Garbett, Lord Archbishop of York, 20th November, 1951.

The Credence Table commemorates Ruby Jane Christie, died 23rd September, 1945. The gift of her husband, 1. E. Christie. Dedicated 1 st June, 1952.

The Archdeacon and Canon Stalls commemorate Robert Cobain, died 30th December, 1929, and Eliza Jane Cobain, died 15th July, 1915. The gift of their family, 1 st March, 1956.

The Sanctuary Lamp is in memory of Richard and Eliza Cherry. Gift of the family, 1957.

Marble Tablet.

On the southern wall is a large marble tablet erected to MENIE   Widow of the late Floyd Minter Peck, who filled the place of father and mother for 26 years. Died 28th June, 1887, aged 67. Erected by her children.

Brass Plate.

In the Chancel is a brass plate to the memory of George Harvard Cranswick, 1881-1954, Second Bishop of Gippsland, and his wife, Olive Carr Cranswick. Their ashes were placed near the altar.

Other Memorials and Gifts.

The Font was presented by Captain John William Jones of  Fulham in 1860. At the same time the Incumbent of St. Paul's, Sale, the Reverend P. K. Simmons made the presentation to Captain Jones of a Bible inscribed "21 st March, 1860. Presented to John William Jones. In the commemoration of the baptism of his son, Ernest William, being the opening of the Font in St. Paul's, Sale".

According to Canon Clark (in 1947) this Bible was then in the possession of Mr. Cecil Jones of Stradbroke.

He also says that Captain Jones' sister, Mrs. Kensall, was the first organist of the Church, and with Mrs. Carpenter (head-teacher of the first school in Sale, 1853) started the first Sunday School.

The Bell, brought from England, was erected on a Belfry as a memorial gift from Mrs. Pearson, Kilmany Park, in memory of her husband, the Hon. W. Pearson. It will be noted that she, herself, has been remembered by her children in one of the beautiful stained glass windows.

Brass Eagle Lectern. This was presented by Mrs. J. Walden in memory of her husband.

A Prayer Desk is a memorial to William Alexander Reid, M.B.I.R., C.P., D.P.H. - "a member of the Chapter of this Cathedral and of the Council of this Diocese".

A Bishop's Throne was given in memory of James Lyon of Somerset Park, and dedicated by his widow at the installation of the first Bishop of Gippsland, at Sale, 10th July, 1902.

A Marble Pulpit is a Memorial to the Right Reverend A. W. Pain, D.o., first Bishop of Gippsland, 1902-17.

Two Clergy Stalls and Choir Fronts were presented in 1929 by Charles Napper in memory of his two sons, Alfred and Arthur, killed in action in World War One.

A Chair was presented by G. and S. Pruden in memory of their parents in 1929, and a second Chair was presented by Mrs. G. Pruden as a Jubilee Gift in 1929. (Perhaps the Jubilee of the Church).

A Chair was presented in Memory of Robert Biggs, Honorary Verger. The gift of his wife and children, 1930.

A Canon's Stall is in Memory of Maude Cobain.

The Reredos is in Memory of Theodore and Ada Little.

A Font Ewer and Shell is in Memory of Cathie Dalziel.

A Font Vase is in Memory of Jack and Frank Shepherd.

A Cross for the Side Chapel is in Memory of Reginal Lander.

A Processional Cross was given and dedicated in memory of Isobel Cartledge.

Book Memorials.

Altar Services Book. In memory of Janet Helen Gooch, died 20th March, 1944.

Two Books of Common Prayer. In memory of Charlotte B. Cox, died 20th May, 1937.

The New English Bible. Presented by the Reverend Canon and Mrs. Frank Lowe and family in memory of their son and brother, David John Lowe, aged 23, accidentally killed, 23rd July, 1973. Server at the Cathedral, 1962-65.
