Biblical Significance:-
The Risen Jesus: Mark 16: 1-8

Following the Crucifixion, Jesus' body was placed in a tomb hewn out of rock, with a great stone rolled against the door of the tomb. When the Sabbath was over Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Salome brought spices so that they could anoint Jesus. It was very early on the first day of the week and as they approached the tomb they saw that the stone had been rolled back away from the tomb.

When they entered they saw a young man dressed in a white robe who said to them, "Do not be amazed, you seek Jesus of Nazareth who was crucified. He has risen, he is not here; see the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him as he told you." They went out and fled from the tomb in fright.

Gift of:
In a letter to St. Paul’s Chapter on 19 March 1957 the Honorary Secretary of the St. Paul’s Ladies Guild Mrs. M. Lucas wrote that they would like to have a stained glass window installed in the Cathedral and that they had the funds in hand for the project.

The window was to recognise the long and dedicated work of the past Ladies Guild in their activities relative to the development and maintenance of the Cathedral.

While it is only possible, owing to the passing of time, to name a few of the loyal workers who contributed constant efforts, the records do reveal that the following ladies were leaders of that time:- Mrs. Rosy Prestney, Mrs. Elizabeth Beadle, Mrs. Mabel Shaw (who was also a Cathedral organist) and Mrs. M. Lucas.
